Step2 Company, in conjunction with the CPSC and Health Canada, issued a voluntary recall of more than 2 million Push Around and Whisper Ride Buggies because a part can loosen, causing the handle to detach, posing a risk of injury.

To date, the company has received 28 reports of the handle detaching; two incidents required medical treatment and 26 resulted in minor scrapes and scratches.

The recall involves Step2 Push Around Buggy and Whisper Ride Buggy – both are ride-on toys. They were sold at major retailers and specialty stores nationwide in several different colors. The CPSC News Release includes photos of the recalled toys for reference.

Consumers should stop using the recalled toys and contact the company for a free repair kit.

For more information, call Step2 toll-free at (866) 860-1887 or visit them online at www.step2.com.
