State Patrol Targets Tailgaters

Comments Off

The Colorado Springs Gazette reported on the continued efforts by the Colorado State Patrol to reduce motor vehicle accidents by using a new technology to identify tailgaters. A new radar gun has the capability not only to identify driving speed but to also detect the space between two cars. In Colorado, the tailgating law is that drivers must leave one car length for every 10 miles per hour. Troopers hope that this new technology will save lives as rear-end collisions occur frequently and can be fatal.
