ICE numbers could save lives in accidents

Comments Off

ICE, or “In Case of Emergency” numbers programmed into cell phones can help save lives when someone is injured in a motor vehicle accident or other circumstance. An article in Colorado Springs’ FOX 21 News Online highlights a recent push for more people to program their ICE numbers into their phones.

From fires to car accidents, every second counts and emergency responders must quickly find the victim’s family or next of kin. To alert them of the situation and to gather important medical information about the victim. The speed and ease of obtaining that contact information is not always easy. Sometimes it can be difficult to notify next of kin, depending on what paperwork is available with the car.

So take the time to ICE your cell phone and help protect yourself in case you’re involved in an emergency situation.
